In the past year, Justin Marcello hauled his prized cutting horse, Colonel Leana, over 40,000 miles across five states to compete in 50 National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA) tournaments. As a result of this effort and competitive success, Justin and the 19-year-old Quarter Horse earned the NCHA Reserve World Championship in Senior Youth. Read More.
Phase One Groundbreaking for the Florida Horse Park
The theme of the Foundation for the Florida Horse Park is "Make the Land a Hero." Located in Ocala, Florida on the Margaret Carr Greenway, the Park is the official training site of the US Equestrian Team and has hosted the premier horses and riders of all disciplines in the world. Projected to bring over $75 million a year to the Central Florida area, the Park broke ground on the first of a three-phase plan for making the Park the number one equestrian destination in the country. Spotlight on Rocky Mountain Horses
Kathy Parrish was at the Kentucky Horse Park, hiding from her horse.
She wasn't goofing off or playing a game. No, no. This was a serious situation. Kathy was in Lexington, Kentucky, for the Rocky Mountain Horse Association's International Championships. In the fancy show ring below, her horse, Mountain View's Seminole, was performing under the direction of his trainer in the 3-year-old stallion under saddle class.

Omega Oils are Important for Horses, Too
Adding fat to the horse’s diet has become increasingly popular in recent years. Whether it’s top-dressing corn oil, switching to a fat-added grain mix, or the convenience of “dry” fat in blended fat supplements, the diets of many horses are being affected by the fat-feeding craze.
While the benefits of high fat diets for horses have been studied and realized, researchers and owners are now asking if one type of fat will offer greater health advantages over others. Read More
